Vocational Centre, Udayamperoor
The vocational training centre (VTC) project was conceived in 2004 and to generate the required funds for the project, we conducted three fund raising programs. A plot of 8 cents was purchased at Udayamperoor and construction started. After reaching the basement level, work was suspended for various reasons. Later in 2015, the project was revived and the building completed. After Rtn. Varghese Ittoop passed away in 2017, the building was named the Varghese Ittoop Memorial Vocational Centre for his dedicated involvement in the project from inception to completion.
Presently the Centre is being utilized on contract with VeeKayVees Catering as a kitchen and for providing vocational training in cake & pastry-making. The contract also includes free supply of food for our Praathal Project. In future, we intend to start vocational training for the local unemployed youth on various aspects of catering and related services.
